What is Animal Communication?

People often ask me what animal communication really is. Firstly, I will say what it is not. It is not observing an animal’s body language, it is not me trying to speak dog/horse/cat/elephant language and it is not animal whispering either!

Animal communication (also known as inter-species communication) is actually a two-way telepathic transfer of a series of images, words, thoughts, feelings, smells, or tastes, or just an innate knowing between two beings. Animals do it between themselves all the time, as do human babies before they learn to speak. But then as we learn the art of language, many of us forget how to communicate in this way. However, it is entirely possible for humans to remember how to communicate telepathically, we just have to re-learn the process.

I work with any species of animal, and the object of my work is to make a positive difference to the lives of the animal and you as their guardian.

What are the benefits of animal communication?

By knowing what your animal wants and needs, you can improve the bond between you. Sometimes just the act of the communication process can be a relief to an animal, just like it can be between two humans. Some of the benefits include:

Understanding any concerns/issues the animal might have and working towards resolving these
Understanding the cause of an animal’s anxiety e.g. separation anxiety, or a specific anxiety they may have
Understanding physical/emotional changes or concerns
Understanding the cause of unwanted behaviours and working with the animal to restore peace and calmness within them
Understanding how your animal might feel during a period of illness
Understanding what an animal might feel as they move towards the end of their life, what their wishes might be and how you might best support them during this time
Being able to support an animal when there is a change within the home environment e.g. new baby, separation, changes within the home environment which can impact the animal
Supporting your animal to understand your absence e.g. holidays, moving house etc
To deepen and improve the relationships between the animal and their guardian
It can be lovely to continue your connection with your animals once they have passed

How an animal communication session works with me

The contract

I work with the utmost integrity at all times and so before I start, we will create a triangle, (or contract if you like) between the animal, the animal’s guardian and me as the communicator/facilitator of this process. It may be necessary to have a short briefing call prior to me starting the work, although I will ask you to keep details of your animal to a minimum to ensure that what I receive has come from them and not something I’ve become aware of consciously through our discussion.

Before we start, I will ask you to complete a consent form with some questions you may want me to ask your animal. I will also ask you to send me a few good quality photographs of the animal’s head and face, including the eyes with no one else in the photos.

Where does the work take place?

I do all of my animal communication work remotely from my healing room, so I do not need the animal or the animal’s guardian to be present during the communication process. This allows me to do the work without interruption, and it gives us more flexibility as we do not have any physical barriers to navigate, such as travel or waiting until everyone is available to start.

How long does it take?

There are several hours of work involved in a communication session with me. I usually spend around 30 minutes preparing for the session. I will clear down my energy, scan my own body and meditate to ensure that I am completely still, with my brain and body in neutral, so that I’m able to hear the whispers from your animal. As we are communicating using all of the senses, this is an important stage of the process.

I do not put a set amount of time on how long the communication part of the work will last, although for a full communication session typically, it lasts a minimum of an hour and a minimum of 30 minutes for a shorter session. Just like people, sometimes an animal may not be ready to connect at the point that I am. They may be busy playing or exercising, the energies may not be right in that moment, or where an animal’s energy is quieter, it may be that I will need to go back in with the animal over more than one session if that is required.

Questions

I will use the photograph/s you provide me to make an energetic connection. You will have the opportunity to let me know what questions you’d like me to ask your animal. As much as you may to have an idea of what topics of conversations are important to you, your animal is likely to have somethings that they may want to share too; these may or may not be the same! I believe that it is equally as important to let the animal lead some of the session so they can truly have their voice.

Reiki healing

At the end of a full communication session, I will share some Reiki healing with your animal with their agreement. I usually spend another 20 minutes or so clearing down my energy following the session to ensure that I am not carrying other’s energies around with me.

Afterwards, I type up the notes, which for a full session typically takes around 45-50 minutes. I provide feedback through video calls, which typically last between 30 and 60 minutes. Following this, I will email the notes over.

Ethics
I operate in line with the code of ethics for interspecies communicators as written by Penelope Smith (1990).

I work with the high levels of honesty, integrity and compassion at all times in a non-judgemental way. I interpret and translate all of the information I receive to the best of my ability.

Animals in spirit
I also work with animals in spirit; some people find it comforting to be able to make contact with their animal once they have passed over and I am able to do this using the same process as above. This type of work can be emotional for both me and also the guardian, and so I ask that you only request this work with me once they’ve been in spirit for at least 6 months.

Lost animals
I do not track lost animals at this time.

Full communication (Includes up to 5 questions, plus a remote mini-Reiki session) This is the package if this is your first time working with me, or if you are a regular client and you are wanting a full, in-depth communication session. It is for animals in their physical bodies as well as for those in spirit	£88	£80
Check in communication (Includes 2-3 questions, no Reiki) I offer shorter check in sessions following a full animal communication session with me. The idea is to ask a just a few questions and/or relay a key message, it is not intended to be an in-depth communication like the full session. It can be useful as a follow-on session to check progress for example. It is for animals in their physical bodies as well as for those in spirit	£50	£45

For animal communication, Reiki & mentoring sessions – full payment is to be made upon booking. Bookings will only be confirmed once payment has been received
For animal communication work, you will be offered a slot within a period of a week for me to do the work for you. These slots will not be held or confirmed until payment has been received
If you need to alter a booking for animal communication or Reiki treatments, you will need to give at least 48 hours’ notice. You may be able to alter your appointment where possible by agreement, although no refunds will be given
For mentoring and animal communication workshop sessions, once the first session has taken place, the fee is non-refundable
For animal communication workshops – the deposit element is non-refundable, although it may be possible to transfer to the next available workshop by agreement
If you cancel your place on an animal communication workshop within 14 days of the workshop date, no refunds will be given
